A Welding Procedure Specification, or WPS, is a document that serves as a guide for creating a weld that meets all applicable code requirements and production standards.WPS contains all of the information required to create the desired weld.
A Procedure Qualification Record, or PQR, documents the procedures for creating and testing the sample welds as well as the final results. If the test results are satisfactory, the PQR is approved and can then be used to draft one or more WPSs.
WPS/PQR welding engineering services are offered by York General Contracting. The purpose of qualification is to ensure that the fabricator qualifies the welding procedures prior to their use on the job, in accordance with the Codes, Standards, Specifications, and Customer requirements.
